Role: UI Designer
Client: Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli
Overview
Qualitalia is the new web portal of the italian Customs and Monopolies Agency.
In Qualitalia the ‘Made in Italy’ food companies can get certifications of quality of their products, to fight counterfeiting and offering to final consumers a further guarantee of origin of what they are buying.

1. Dashboard

My role
I worked on Qualitalia as UI Designer. I was asked to give the wireframes a visual and graphic layout. These interfaces' final users are food producers, their deputies, and Qualitalia's employers.

I had to find clear solutions to easily load and find products, and certifications on the portal, and allow users to manage different elements and guide them into the necessary steps to obtain the certification in case of food producers, and to release documents in case of Qualitalia's employers.
Findings

First of all, producers have to insert a lot of different types of pieces of information about their products, inclusive of images and previous certifications. The other big question was that both the producer and the agent can have a large number of open ‘practices’, and they need to have awareness of their status.

2. Add Product

Solutions
To make interfaces clear to the user and guide him in the insertion of the information I opted for a strong vertical information hierarchy pattern (see ‘Add product’ screen).

To give awareness of the status of certifications I worked on badges, colors, and icons relative to the status of the elements. Some of these examples can be seen in the Certifications Screen (3) and in the Dashboard (1).
